1948 International KB1 street rod. New build as of spring 2011. Professional build with Air Conditioning Heat & Defrost, new Power brakes, all new 4 wheel disk brakes. Have put over 15,000 fun miles driving this truck on Hot Rod Magazine power tour 2011 from Florida to Detroit, to Biloxi twice, to Pigeon Forge, to Cincinnait, Charlotte, Fort Myers and many other car show. Over 1500 hours and thousands of dollars in new parts to build this truck. Rebuilt engine with new Holley carb, new waterpump and new HEI distributor. Rebuilt 700R4 transmission with lock up converter. Rear end and rear suspension from a 1988 Z28 Camaro with the aluminum driveshaft included. New US Radiators $700 radiator with dual speed electric fan. Never runs over 180 degrees even with temps over 100 degrees outside. New Dropped front axle and suspension system from Speedway Motors with new Vega box. Top chopped 3 inches, bottom of cab cut off 4" and another 6" channeled over frame for low look. Original frame used by shortening it and Z'ing front and rear with new custom front cross member and new transmission crossmember. New wheels, new tires, new hub caps and rings. New shocks on all 4 corners. I welded a fiberglass wrapped muffler insert inside the exhaust collector so it is very quiet under normal driving around town. Step down on the throttle hard out in the country and it will get loud. A lot of fun to drive and will run straight down the interstate at 80 mph all day and get over 20 miles per gallon. Been building street rods for 50 years and never had one get as much attention going down the road as this one. The horns are honking, the thumbs are going up and the cell phone cameras are constantly popping out of cars as we pass them going down the road. New radio. All new glass installed throughout and door windows roll up using original mechanism. Insulated firewall and inside doors for sound and temperature proofing. Interior fully insulated & upholstered including headliner. Only steel showing inside is dashboard, A pillars and tops of doors (see interior photos). New "Tanks" universal gas tank. Full set of all new gauges in dash. Seats, tilt steering column and gear shifter out of the 1988 Camaro. Custom headlights and 1937 Ford tail lights. Wood for bed of truck is rough sawn cedar. No expense spared to make this a reliable hot rod using mostly new parts everywhere.
