1950 Chevrolet 3100 Custom

Top chopped, new floor channeled over frame, body sectioned, smooth firewall, hood pancaked, RELIABLE DRIVER. The frame and suspension remain BARE steel! Garage kept 100% of the time only driven on sunny days.

SBC 350 was new in '09. TH400, Ford 9", 4 bar rear suspension with watts link, front suspension has hand fabricated A-arms with rack and pinion steering. Ride Tech air ride, new bed wood. Lokar shifter and e-brake. American Auto Wire harness and fuse box. Disc brakes all the way around. Wilwood up front and Ford SVO in the rear. The frame is completely boxed, and it drives smooth and straight!

I enjoyed driving the heck out of this truck over the last 6 years its been on the road!

What it needs:

1. Put door glass in (I have originals).

2. Interior needs carpet & headliner. It already has bead rolled aluminum door panels installed that need to be finished off by an upholstery person. The expensive custom built bench seat is already done.

3. Hook up the remainder of the gauges. I've always wanted new complete clusters, but it could be done with just a few new repop parts and pieces.

Lastly if you want it shiny... then this is where you blow the thing a part, and

4. Finish work body (panel gaps, grind some welds in jams, misc repair and welding, etc)

5. Paint frame, suspension, body, and then reassemble!

Or, leave it the way it is and instantly have a cool truck any where you drive it.

It should be noted that there is minor rust repair that would need to be performed, but don't get the wrong idea. The cab, doors, hood, and fenders have ZERO rust. The bed sides, and running boards have a few spots where they attach that would need attention before paint. For example where a bolt hole might be slightly enlarged due to rust in its' former life. All of those spots are in practically flat pieces of metal. Being that the truck has only a rough primer paint job and unpainted frame & suspension, nothing is hidden. What you see is what you get, there will not be any rusty surprises.

The sheet metal work is pretty cool. Even more impressive is the frame and suspension that was beautifully tig welded. The front end was built from scratch to have a narrower track width than the store bought ones, so a wide wheel and tire could be used in the future and still allow for decent tire/fender clearance when turning.

This is NOT a rat rod, this is the makings of a one off magazine/show truck. The mass of the fabrication for this truck was done by a local, award winning, hot rod fabrication shop.
