16" steelie wheels
Photo 2 of 5 in 1927 San Diego Ford hot rod - $12k Gallery.Scroll down for photo information
Flat black, all steel hot rod. This car has been a blast to own and drive for over 10 years. I built it and rebuilt it as my own ride, not for a quick flip. The roadster turns heads more than cars 10X the price!
It's an original 1927 Ford steel body sectioned (cowl vent removed) to look like a "Lakes Modified" for racing at the Bonneville Salt Flats. It's very cozy with 2 people in it, but I'm 6'4" and drive it. If you're shorter than that, you'll have no problem fitting and bringing your honey in close on a cool summer night!
Build:
* Frame is 2x3 custom construction with removable transmission cross member
* "Suicide" Ford drilled front axle hung on 1/4 elliptic springs with Pete and Jakes chrome shocks
* Rear axle is a 4.11 geared 8" also mounted on 1/4 elliptic springs and chrome shocks
* Overall, the suspension works very well and is not abusive to drive
* Brakes are 40's style juice brakes in front and 10" later model Ford drum in rear.
* Wheels are 16" steelies with Firestone Bias ply tires
* Engine is 2.3L Ford "Pinto" motor with several performance upgrades:
* Custom made individual runner intake with dual Weber 44 IDF's
* Custom made header, ceramic coated black
* Solid lift cam and mild head work
* Pertronix ignition inside Mallory dist
* Optima battery mounted under the car
* Interior upholstered in tan, leather like boat vinyl. Stays surprisingly cool in summer.
* Floor carpeted with insulation used throughout body, floor and doors. Sounds solid!
Vehicle condition: The car runs and drives and is ready for your summer cruise-in's.
If out of state, I can work with you on shipping or possibly deliver if you pay for gas and with non-refundable deposit in hand
